.: Elevator
I was at Mount Sinai hospital today. While I was riding the elevator, a pretty young hospital worker of some sort got on with both her hands full. She was carrying a large tray in both hands, as well as a tied up bunch of flattened cardboard boxes. When her floor came up she started to shift around, trying to pick up the cardboard boxes without dropping her tray. Me, being the shining knight in armour that I am, went over and picked up her boxes for her. She seemed surprised as I guided them into her hand. "There you go," I said and went back to leaning against the wall.
"Uh... thank you?" she replied. Another passenger got off, she didn't move, and the elevator doors closed. Of course, she wasn't actually getting off, she was just shifting the weight of the tray. No one else said anything and we rode the rest of the way to her floor in silence.
That sounds like the sort of thing that would happen to you. At least everyone was nice enough to say nothing of the event.
